Title: Bay for the FIRST time
Post by: KGroove on April 16, 2016, 10:30:42 AM
If you havent checked the weather yet its a perfect day for kayaking on Sunday 4/17. sunny and next to no wind. I wanted to hit the bay for the first time. Anyone no good spots to launch where fishing reports have been promising? I dont have a lot of gear: no fish finder, no radio, nothing fancy at all so Im not traveling far. Just want to feel out the bay and try to get a damn fish for once.

Nice, Im not sure what the water temps are yet up there. Im still stuck in Florida but returning next week. but if its 55 or so there should be plenty of blues to have fun with and bass along the steep mud banks. Try little bay. You can launch at the ramp off of route 9 in the forsythe wildlife refuge.

Make a left at the light in Smithville if coming from the north on route 9. When the road starts heading downhill to the marshes just past the jersey devils house turn right on a dirt road and you will be at the ramp. Or you could continue to the end of the road and you will be at Oyster Creek Inn. You can put in oyster creek and it will bring you out into Great bay which should also be loaded with blues.
