Put the boat in today after checking the forecast........We were met by stiff North/north east winds at first,I almost called it a day. After some punishment we found some working birds and did a little shad rig pulling......The action was steady with many doubles and double hook ups.
We had two keepers for the dinner table to be enjoyed shortly!
A very safe guess would be around 40 fish caught today.
The fish story of the day was Bowguide's big big fish........We do not know what it was but a good 15-20 min fight.......I chased the fish and Bow did all he could to fight this brute. The rig finally pulled out before we caught a glimpse of the fish......We had a small audience for a while when we were fighting it........Ohh well that is fishing don't think we could have done anything diffrent to land this giant.

Nice job. Bowguide may have hooked up with one of them bluefins that are out there. I heard they were hitting the shad umbrellas and nothing else.

AWESOME trip much thanks to CAPT BIG FISH YOUNGULL. We did question our sanity at first but that changed after we pulled the shad rigs about 50 feet and had a hook up.The fishing was constant and the wind died completely.Just a GREAT day all around.I dont know what I was hooked into but it kicked my A$$

Its fun to joke around like I did about the 19 rock pile that doesn’t exist, but you guys have to admit that the former member is undoubtedly one of the best saltwater fishermen, a person who would also go out of his way to help a fellow fisherman, which is what this site is all about. Maybe his numbers for the day were high or whatever you want to criticize, but he was always on quality fish every time out and posted his findings and enthusiasm for fishing. If you don’t know whom I’m talking about, go back to fishing reports from spring stripers to summer fluke and look up a Joey G post. Amberjack or not, he is one heck of a fisherman t^.

It is also fun to joke about the "all the amberjack you wanted" too.
Didn't say anything about his unwillingness to help people.
He should be commended for that.
Integrity means a lot. I was personally involved in another instance where I was told there were X amount of fish in the box and when it came time to post, there were 1/3 less fish then I was told to my face.
The amberjack instance also affected a memeber here who wasted his time and money chasing those reports that day which were obviously bogus. A person I have a great deal of respect for (and I know you do to). How should that person feel?
Was he helped out that day?
One of the best saltwater fisherman? Quite a stretch if you ask me.
The best do not have to exaggerate or falsify their reports.
Broken Bobber is a perfect example.
Maybe the best Raritan Bay fluke fisherman out there. He probably knows it too, but he doesn't I disagree his reports at all, EVER!
Kinda makes me wonder about any past reports from a person who consistently bends the truth.
Anyway, nice day for Young Gull and Bowguide.
