Just take a look at the amount of sand that has been lost in this area of Lavellette alone since last week alone.
First two pictures were before last two were today.

It's amazing what Mother Nature can do.
-
Just think if that storm was really bad or a classic Nor'ester. Wow...
-
wow... there forever fixing that beach
-
Corp of Engineers can do all the beach replenishment they want, if Mother Nature wants to take the sand away, there is no stopping her. Huge waste of money.
-
I agree...
She usually will take it away but she will bring most of it back. It is usually our intervention like blocking the natural flow of sand by using jetties and groins that might seem to work for a while but sooner or later if she wants it she will just take it.

i wonder what the property value will be for all those "beachfront" homes when they become the new "ATLANTIS"?????
-
Unless we have a major hurricane CAT 3 or higher or back to back to back Nor'ester's or the oceans rise faster then normal they should be OK.
The beach will replenish it self over time. I will post pictures in a couple of weeks and show you the difference.
Its pretty cool. It is sort of Mother Nature flushing her toilet from time to time. rofla rofla rofla
Happy Catching

MAYBE, BUT MY GUESS IS LONG BEACH ISLAND, AND THE PENINSULA FROM BAY HEAD TO SEASIDE PARK WILL BE UNDERWATER IN 20 YEARS
-
With all that money on the island, the pols won't let that happen. Mostly because a lot of the money is theirs! (http://smilies.sofrayt.com/eng/greedy.gif)
-
I agree...
Did you see the paper today? In order for the beach communities to gain access to any monies for beach care the towns will have to meet certain gimmies like beach access points, parking for beach goers, bathroom facilities every 1/2 mile, etc, etc.
This aught to be interesting. TT^

Paul, check out the Asbury Park Press web site. It had that article and after the article it has some comments.
The locals are already complaining that it will bring in the illegal aliens who the locals claim to be slobs, filthy, and worst of all P-O-O-R. As you said, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. TT^

Nothing like making friends...
I will have to read the comments sounds like good reading. grtn

i surf fish all up and down LBI, and even in december, when i park LEGALLY, on a side street to get beach access, i find notes on my car saying please dont park here anymore bngh
-
If you are parked legally I would not worry about it.
When in doubt stop at the local Police office and ask if there are any ordnance against allowing you to park a legal vehicle on an unmarked street to gain access to the beach to fish.
This way your mind is clear. Oh yeah get the name of the person you talked to.
Happy Catching

oh, i wasnt worried about anything like that, it just goes to show the mindset of the wealthy, and their feeling of entitlement. they purchase a home with an entrance on a public street and try to make it private. i have a message for those few.....BUY A HOME IN A GATED COMMUNITY!!!!!----OH---SORRY----NONE OF THOSE ON THE BEACH, EH????? rofla rofla rofla rofla
