A very unsettled Christmas Weekend for weather and water conditions. Showers are possible all day Saturday, then rain and snow showers and a wintry mix is possible on Sunday Night, followed by rain/snow showers on Monday Day. Any snow accumulations will be less than 3 inches maximum, right now. Most areas will only have a dusting. Highs will be in the 40’s and 50’s on Saturday and Sunday and then the 30’s and 40’s on Monday. Lows will range from the 30’s and 40’s on Saturday and Sunday to the teens to 20’s on Christmas Night. Water conditions will be cautious to hazardous at best. Winds will gust to 40 knots and seas to 15 feet.

Low pressure from the Tennessee River Valley will move northeast overnight and Saturday, reaching the New England coast late in the day. A strong cold front associated with this low will move through the area and off the coast Saturday night. High pressure will then build in behind this front on Christmas Eve before yet another low moves northeast just off the coast early Christmas morning. Cold high pressure is then expected for a good portion of next week. A coastal storm is possible next weekend.

From my family to yours, have a safe and Merry Christmas. Enjoy the extended weekend and thanks for reading!

Title: Christmas Eve/Christmas Day Snow
Post by: Pfishingruven on December 24, 2017, 02:12:57 PM
Some areas will see more than a dusting from snow tonight and into early tomorrow. Northern Areas of the state could see from 1 inch upwards of 4-6 inches in Northwestern NJ. There will also be areas in Southern NJ that see only rain.

Merry Christmas
