Title: Striped Bass Dec 26
Post by: sealife on December 26, 2007, 04:57:28 PM
Could not stand the house and reading about fishing anymore so I went to Pt Pleasant and got on the Gambler.  First time on this boat and the Capt and mate were absolutely first class.  Went up to Asbury Park and started a drift under some birds and we had drop and reel fishing for an hour.  Lots of shorts.  Rest of the day was a pick but the Captain kept trying different spots.  Ended my day with 28 Stripers and one keeper which missed the pool by 3 ounces.  I would recommend the boat and crew to anyone wanting that last fix on the bass.

Nice report Dave.  I gotta get out and fish some time soon.  Too bad that bass wasn't just a tad larger for the pool.   t^

Congratulations Sealife!  It sounds like you had a great day!

I would agree with you 100%!  I have fished on the Gambler many, many times and it is always a good time.  Captain Bob and Captain Mike are constantly working hard to put you on the fish.  Mates John and Brian are great guys and are tremendously helpful as well.  Add to that a great bunch of "regulars" who fish on that boat, and you can't help but have a good time!  t^

I'm hoping to get out to fish on her this Friday, for my last shot at the stripes this year! ;D

Sounds like a good work out Dave.  I am hoping to get out on the beach tomorrow before the weather closes in again.

I just picked up my IBSP beach buggy pass today and ready to go for non stop fishing till next year 2009.

Maybe 2008 will be a good year my number is the lowest I have ever been given so far, 0453 I hope that is a good luck sign.

Happy Catching

Paul
