Well guys it is time to get serious. The beach is lighting up and the back bay is easy pickins. Bunker chunks are the first choice a metal jigs are a close second.
Out back it is small stuff like 3/4 bucktails to whatever will keep them off the bottom with a slow retrieve. Oh yeah don't forget to put on a curly tail or what ever you choose to use. Plus don't leave behind that favorite top water rig, the bass that are back there sure like them.
If you prefer the inlet have at it. 1 to 3 oz bucktails seem to be the key. Use any color you want as long as it is white. The blues are on the bottom so that is where you want to be.
Out front is beginning to be a lot of fun. Again bunker chunks seem to be the key for nice size stripers as well as blues. Let us know how you do.
Looks like today is not in the picture for me as we will be heading down to Stafford Twp. with my grandson (almost 3) to the Touch a Truck at the lake there.
Fishem up, the season is here and I hope it lasts for a while. I am trying to get out Monday we'll see what happens.
Oh yeah I am hearing of a few weak fish being caught in the bay as well as blow fish out front. In fact John over at Betty & Nicks has gone into the way back box and put out blow fish rigs. Thanks John...

Thanks for the report. Enjoy the time with your grandson. I owe all to my grandfather for taking me fishing. Have a safe season filled with PB’s. Tight lines!

Thanks Captain. It is called pass it on time. Trust me he will love fishing as much as I do. Both Grandfathers taught me how to fish one in freshwater and the other in salt. I learned to fish freshwater In Warinanco Park in Newark, NJ. The other taught me saltwater fishing in St. Pete FL. I enjoyed spending my summers in Florida growing up.
With all this fun information inside me I can not, not pass it along. He already loves the truck but that is another story.
Living so close to IBSP for over 50 years it is my back yard so to speak. I hope he enjoys it as much as I do. Se what happens when fishing and grandson are mentioned...
If the season goes like it started it should be a good one.
Tight Lines and be Safe out there.
