I used to fish the beach in South Amboy awhile back. I took a ride out there this morning and didnt even recognise it. I used to drive down the beach right to the water and fish. Now the beach is all townhouses.Anybody know where the regulars fish now?

NJJAN
Don't know about the north side of the bay, but on the south side from Laurence Harbor to Atl Highlands depending upon the time of season, action starts in Laurence Harbor, Keyport, Union Beach Area fist t^

Welcome Aboard NJJan,
Nice to have you aboard. I can't help you with that I fish the surf down in Ocean County and have not been up in that area for years.
I am sure that if there are any former regulars they will chime in soon. If not I would check with a local B&T for some of the answers.
Good Luck...
Again Welcome Aboard.
Happy Catching

Thanks for the Welcome. Hunting season was kind of a bust for different reasons, so Im really looking forward to getting out fishing. Ive fished Union Beach before (and got stuck there at high tide), and Sandy Hook, but that was a few years ago. Is anything running now?
-
thats a problem we will continue to face, more development over our land and beaches.
-
You might want to try Sandy Hook and see if you can pick up a striper. They are still around down here but getting harder and harder to find. For us down here clams is the key. If you can getr fresh all the better if not salted will work as well.
Happy Catching
