Inshore fishing and Southern eats

Started inshore fishing around Courtney Campbell Causeway in the late forties, early fifties. The miles of endless grass flats were home to Redfish, Trout, Snook and Mackerel:(https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu162/harbisonphoto/1(212).jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds) (https://app.photobucket.com/u/harbisonphoto/a/ba7603db-b801-4e26-8944-caebd7f9f2aa/p/10a257f0-f496-4a3c-8015-8f85f60437ee)We could always tell when we were about to witness a Mackerel Attack by the flocks of birds hoovering over the huge schools. Time to change to a wire leader:(https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu162/harbisonphoto/2(193).jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds) (https://app.photobucket.com/u/harbisonphoto/a/ba7603db-b801-4e26-8944-caebd7f9f2aa/p/b78ccc0f-f81d-46b5-aaf8-d22cf7c44024)(https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu162/harbisonphoto/3(21).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds) (https://app.photobucket.com/u/harbisonphoto/a/ba7603db-b801-4e26-8944-caebd7f9f2aa/p/40941d1d-5acc-47b4-8c27-d891531d7054)As the sun went down it was crabbing time:(https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu162/harbisonphoto/4(169).jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds) (https://app.photobucket.com/u/harbisonphoto/a/ba7603db-b801-4e26-8944-caebd7f9f2aa/p/2a3c1bc8-cca1-4694-9464-d81b3919e83f)We would stop when our basket was full:(https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu162/harbisonphoto/5(159).jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds) (https://app.photobucket.com/u/harbisonphoto/a/ba7603db-b801-4e26-8944-caebd7f9f2aa/p/cca9aded-4406-4840-a97c-ea69c78eaca8)In the early sixties my offshore career began. Inshore was a lot of fun, but it was time to move on.Have not fished the Courtney Campbell Area in over 1/2 a century. Can't help but wonder what the area is like today. Regardless, Florida inshore fishing remains strong. Let's take a look at some recent Central Florida Inshore photos:(https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu162/harbisonphoto/6(150).jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds) (https://app.photobucket.com/u/harbisonphoto/a/ba7603db-b801-4e26-8944-caebd7f9f2aa/p/39300c74-36d4-481f-a550-42710f6d39b5)(https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu162/harbisonphoto/7(143).jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds) (https://app.photobucket.com/u/harbisonphoto/a/ba7603db-b801-4e26-8944-caebd7f9f2aa/p/34b271c8-acc3-40ee-a950-b8221e39ee6c)(https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu162/harbisonphoto/8(134).jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds) (https://app.photobucket.com/u/harbisonphoto/a/ba7603db-b801-4e26-8944-caebd7f9f2aa/p/a4954335-970b-454a-a00c-06a0e631baba)(https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu162/harbisonphoto/9(127).jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds) (https://app.photobucket.com/u/harbisonphoto/a/ba7603db-b801-4e26-8944-caebd7f9f2aa/p/6127654f-7a2e-4166-b976-11126d4a30a1)(https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu162/harbisonphoto/10(130).jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds) (https://app.photobucket.com/u/harbisonphoto/a/ba7603db-b801-4e26-8944-caebd7f9f2aa/p/549ac172-8c34-4158-88c3-c3ae2c2bdc2f)(https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/uu162/harbisonphoto/11(118).jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds) (https://app.photobucket.com/u/harbisonphoto/a/ba7603db-b801-4e26-8944-caebd7f9f2aa/p/8feee2eb-d7f7-4e76-842a-1e9e72fd87bc)And now the best part! One thing about us Southern Crackers...
