First of all, let me start by saying that I am not sure I posted this in the right place. If I haven't, mods please move it to where it belongs.
OK, in the past, you needed to return your Striped Bass Log Report for the prior year before you could get your Striped Bass Bonus Tag for the current year. Aparently, with the $2.00 fee for your Bonus Tag, there is nothing to make you turn in your log. The log asked that you return it by, I believe it was Jan 15, but I was able to purchase my Bonus Tag on line for 2008 before I even mailed in my 2007 log. I just think that without a reason to have to send in your log, quite a few anglers will not, and in the process, the Fish & Wildlife will be loosing valuable information.
Any other thoughts on this?

it makes sence. I get my bonus tags every year and never hand in my report log... WHY? Because I don't have to...

It makes you sit back and wonder...is this just another way for the state to collect a tax? I think we all know the answer to that. bngh bngh

Yep, it's not about conservation or anything else but the states/ YOUR dollar. :'(

Well, even though I was able to get my Striped Bass Bonus Tag, I did send in my log. I just want somebody in the Dept of Fish & Wildlife to go, "OMG, this women went striper fishing 27 times last year" ;D

They probably won't notice because they have college interns doing all the work as I was an intern once. All they care about is getting a passing grade for the least amount of work preformed.
