Thanks for the heads up Frankev. 

I saw that during the fishing season.  I just did a search of the site for mitten crab.  Strange that there are no hits.  I thought it was posted here when it first came out.   5hrug

I read about this when the alert first came out.   

These guys are pretty ravenous even for crabs, so they will cause some real problems if they get a foot hold in this region.

I am quite familiar with these crabs.   I lived in China for five years and used to catch these hairy crabs when I had time.  This, of course, was much to the bewilderment of the locals who couldn't believe that an American on an overseas contract would actually want to take the time catch crabs for fun when I could just go out and buy them.   It was a real oddity to them.

With all this being said, they are a tasty crustacean.  ;-)
