Thanks

hummm, never seen a combo. I just bought a vhf/fm band splitter and will share my vhf attenna.

yep, never seen one and wouldn't buy one even if they did make them (which I doubt they do).

My buddy has a Lowrance 880, not 100% sure on the model. Decent unit. He also has a stand alone stereo system on the boat with speakers in the cockpit. He uses the FM feature while underway so he has tunes in the pilothouse.
ICOM also makes a few VHF/FM receiers which I think are all handhelds.

I have a uniden solara used 1 season with a used Shakespeare whip I will be selling cheap very shortly. Like $30 for the setup if anyone is looking.

never either... wouldn't be too bad of an idea.

IMHO, a VHF is a safety device. I wouldn't want to overcompicate it. I want it to work when I need it without fooling around with an FM radio...just my .02 cents.

Try this.

The thing with having a VHF with FM, when you have the FM on you will not be able to monitor channel 16. I know a lot of people don't monitor it now but, according to CG regs, if you have a radio onboard, you are obligated (read must) monitor channel 16.
