Title: Sat & Sun 3/1 & 3/2 report
Post by: Art Berkman on March 03, 2008, 09:20:24 AM
Sat Met my friend Steve & a few of his son's friends in Riverdale and took the short ride to Ringwood.

Put 15 tip up's out.

And boy was it a slow 3 hrs.We caught 2 pickeral. And it's a good thing we had a couple of future engineers with us.They built a Jennifer convertable out of snow   ;D

We also lost a very big Largemouth Bass.We could not get the fish's head through the ice and when someone put his hand and tried to lip the fish the line snapped. We had a bunch of other bites but for some reason they were spitting the baits.

What a Difference a day makes

Sun my cell rings at 8 am & Steve says be at my house at 8:45 am.The wind was howling & we all knew if we went to Culver lake there was no shelter from the wind.We all decided to go for it anyway.Once we got to Culver we were quite surprised to see we had the whole lake for ourselves.Set up 15 tip ups and it was crazy catching.3 hrs later we were out of Bait !

No it's a private lake.

I thought so. I used to do a lot of fishing and hunting in that area and always drooled over all that standing timber and structure when driving past Culver.

I thought maybe there was a place to park and walk on the ice.

We have a few friend's that own homes on the lake. You need badges to fish the lake. And it's not wise to  park anywhere. The State cops will ticket you.
