Title: Long Island Cod, 3/30
Post by: crabcake on March 31, 2008, 08:59:42 PM
Took another cod trip out of Captree this past weekend and once again I wasn't disappointed.  Aboard the Captree Princess I managed 3 keeper cod, 3 jumbo ling, a throwback cod, & 4 or 5 ocean pout which I released.  This year saw some of the most consistent local cod action in 10+ years and I'm glad to say that I made 5 trips and went home with at least one cod each time. Best part is that I didn't have to travel to Montauk or Mass to find some action. Granted,  I never filled my cooler but caught more than enough for dinner for me and my wife. This weekend will be devoted to other obligations and in two weeks I'll switch gears to flounder. I'll keep you guys posted on how the season turns out up here in NY.
