Title: SeaHawk 4/03 Flounder Report
Post by: mgm on April 03, 2008, 03:27:14 PM
Decided to try the Raritan on the SeaHawk out of Perth Amboy. Weather was beautiful most of the day, but cooled down towards the end of the trip.  SW winds didn't materialize as forecast as it blew NE when the winds picked up.

14 fares took about 50 keeper flounder with the pool fish going about 17".  Worms seemed to be the favorite bait, but clams and mussels also produced.

Fished the flats off of Cliffwood Beach and one drop off of Morgan Creek.  It was pick pick pick, but not a bad day overall since the water temp is still on the cold side.

Probably is going to be another week or two till the peak season hits.  Nice to get out today on the water

Have some nice filets for 3 dinners. t^ t^

nice job by Capt Mikey  TT^

hopefully he'll put that boat on the drift soon and put more flatties in the boat - those spots in the back are money on a dead slow, .1 kt. creep-along drift  ;D

Allen, he had thought of pulling the anchor and drifting as he had wind against tide.

Drifting can be killer in the bay TT^

Think I'm going with the original plan of hitting them tomorrow with my uncle.  Sunday looks to be the nicer of the days though.

I guess I should check out my flounder gear tonight huh? I vaguely remember putting it somewhere after the move  rofla hhppy

You heading out this weekend Allen?  Catch em up t^
