Fished aboard the Sea Hawk out of Perth Amboy. Light crowd, maybe 10 anglers including my uncle and I.
Got to the first near-by spot and had the fish starting to chew all around the boat. I quickly put three over the rail and others were as well. Wind and clouds moved in causing the fish to turn off. Picked away at fish for the rest of the day with another quick flurry right before we headed in.
Early on the seemed to want plain old juicy sandworms, while later in the day the nod went to a fresh piece of snot aka mussels.
Did catch two on the old "ham-n-eggs" aka sand/clam strip combo.
Used plain old sinkers, non-dipped, lead colored t^
1.5-2.5ozs. Majority of bites were light and had to work them to get em to swallow. Did miss about three bites though bngh
Uncle had one that took both hooks down deep rofla Think he let that one chew a long time. hhppy
He and I ended up with 13 caught by us with another 1 added by the mate caught on my rod I had deadsticked while in the cabin.
Only had one skate with a few making an appearnce overall.
Not great, but not bad at all. Everyone onboard left with some fillets, with most catching between 3-5 keepers.
No bass bites at all as we even deadsticked a rod with clam just in case... 5hrug
Did get the report for sunday with 30 keepers for about a dozen anglers. They even had their first FLUKE of the season come and visit chrz

SeaHawk sailed yesterday with 7 fares and had 35 keepers.
Today they have 31 fares out and was told it seemed everyone had a keeper just about and some had 2-4. TT^
Was a bit busy so not sure if the captain said he was done drifting or about to start...

I'd pop outside the office myself but they're putting out mulch/fertilizer/stink nuggets around the complex :P
