Well despite the problems I had earlier today (see http://njsaltwaterfisherman.com/forums/index.php?topic=6461.0 (http://njsaltwaterfisherman.com/forums/index.php?topic=6461.0)) it wound up being a great night! I took my daughter over to Berkeley Island Park after dinner. I brought a light rod and she had her brand new "Princess" rod with her. After, she played in the park for a while we walked over by the pier to do some serious fishing. ;)
She really just enjoys casting and reeling her "fishy". But the real fun started when she actually got to catch her first two fish ever! Two fine bluefish weighing nearly 3/4 of a pound each. The smile on her face was amazing to see as she reeled them in! ;D
What a great night! t^

BTW, I also took some video on my phone, but I'm not sure how to post that. Rod? Any way to do that?

Very very cool. And very pretty little girl you have there. The smile on her face tells me she's hooked, and you have a new fishing partner.
I always liked taking my daughter fishing, seems the girls have more patience than the boys in my experience. However, with her busy schedule, graduating high school and soon heading to Boston College, in addition to work and all the causes she volunteers for, she doesn't do much fishing anymore.
Congragulate your daughter for me on a fine fine catch.

Man she has some big hands in that second picture. I'd have that looked at t^
for the forum it would have to go through YouTube
or send me the file and I'll see if I can host it on the home page.

Boy does that bring back memories. A fishing buddy for life. My baby is 18 and I am still thrilled when she still wants to go fishing with her old man.

Bob, that is one fine picture. That deserves to be an 8x10 glossy and a wall hanger. You just can't fake a smile like that. Congrats to her for her outstanding catch. slt

Thanks to everyone for all your kind words. ;)
My wife said that this morning my daughter was still very excited about her big catch. And when she got to her preschool class she was telling everyone who would listen how she caught those bluefish! ;D

LOL, just like I said, she's hooked for life, congrats again, you have a new fishing partner. Enjoy every bit of it because it doesn't last long enough. I wonder where all the years went, seems like just yesterday my little girl was 3, fishing with me in the boat, to small to fish but playing with the killies in the livewell(and naming them). In the fall, she'll be off to Boston College.
Congrats to you and your daughter again on a fine catch, and she deserves the bragging rights.
