Got a late start today, left AH at 7 after snagging a few bunker. They were hard to get today and there were many boats looking for them. Ran down the coast past Asbury looking for the bunker schools but NG. Many calls on the radio looking for bunker. See catfish had the same result. Apparently the bit was very early and a few nice fish were taken then bluefish took over, then nothing.
Decided to fluke my way back north. The drift was to the south, wind from the shore so I made runs into the beach and drifted out and south then ran north and repeated. Caught 12" to 17.5" fluke, skates, robins and sea bass. Did this for the rest of the day returning to AH at 4. Gassed up and cleaned the boat.
It was absolutely gorgeous out there today with great temps, light wind, no waves and bright sun. Even the drift was good, now if only we could find some keepers.
