Title: Porgy Time in Port Jeff, NY
Post by: crabcake on June 21, 2008, 10:58:53 PM
Had a great 1/2 day this morning with Capt. Amanda and the crew of the Osprey IV. We experienced a wide open porgy bite and I quickly nailed a limit of very nice scup, releasing many more to be caught another day.  If anyone is planning any trips to Long Island it is time to grab some light tackle, head to Port Jeff,  and take a kid fishing.  The crew of the Osprey did a fabulous job and it was great getting out with them again.

PS- That bottom scup was worth $110  t^

Nice job Chris!  What's the limit up there now w/ the scup?

The limit is 10 fish per day @ 11 inches.  Tough regs, but 10 big fish still provides a couple of very satisfying meals.

Nice job, expecially on the $110 fish.  t^
