Title: 6/21 Manasquan - IBSP
Post by: Fishin Dude on June 22, 2008, 08:16:36 AM
Left Manasquan and worked bunker pods south to IBSP,from 8ft to 60ft of water. No Bass, same as everyone else out there. Saw a few guys in kyaks catch some keeper Fluke in about 25 ft of water, that was it. Storm came in fast, went south so we missed it. Then the dark clouds with thunder and lightning came in down there, we ran north and missed that one too. Back at the dock we saw a nice Mako Shark that was brought in by one of the tournement guys, pretty cool. Ben Franklin and George Washington paid for the gas. <'((((><

Nice report Dude. I was out of Shark River and only went as far south as Spring Lake because of the weather report. Didn't have any rain or dark clouds up that way at all. We fished till 3pm. Same as you, lotsa bunker, nothing with them.  :'(

We did get one keeper fluke.

Good Report!  I guess if the Kayakers can make it out there it should be no problem for a 17ft?  About how far out were the Kayakers from the inlet?

Kayak guys were out 30 feet of water, maybe 1 mile off the beach at times. I don't think they came out of the inlet, must have launched somewhere off the beach. I would NEVER attempt Manasquan inlet in a kayak. Watch the weather/conditions, and you should be ok in a 17. <'((((><
