Title: Fluking 7/19
Post by: kezsr on July 20, 2008, 09:09:46 AM
fished with Ken and his wife Hon on there boat " The Breeze",launched at Sayreville at 5,headed straight out to the Ambrose Channel,we were trying to get the big ones, fishing a local tournament.started out fishing wind against tide, not much action, only a few shorts, then Hon's pole bends over and a big one on,all anxious for this one to come up,hoping for the fluke of all flukes, get it to the boat and it's a big striper, netted it and got it on board,it measured 35 inches and weighed 16 1/2 lbs.it had taken a smelt with a squid strip.Bass was released unharmed and we continued fluking.we then moved to Sandy Hook Channel, some action but no keepers.once the tide changed we weren't fighting wind against tide,so we headed back to the Ambrose channel, all we managed to get were more shorts,Ken did get one at just 18 inches.started heading back around 1:30,made some stops in the reach and came up mt.back in at 3:30   Kez
