Title: Crabbing Tips
Post by: Hotrod on July 28, 2008, 10:40:05 PM
Picked up some  crap pots and a couple Licenses today..  Looking to throw some pots for an  8-10 hr soak..  Question is?  where is a good place / Area to set them.. Like depth.. How close to a sod bank .. etc

trial and error??  i'm sure depth place a factor yes?

rod.. I got you with this one.. go to the mouth of the round-a-bout creek by you.. go to the bank on the right side. There is a pocket of deep water there, about 8 foot.  Don't waste your time soaking them during the day.. soak over night and get both tide changes before lift

keep them as close to the banks as you can, you can go as low as 4" of water at low tide.  You will see a ton of other commercial traps in that area.  if your entering round a bout, as soon as you enter and make the right turn.. dump in that corner of the bend.
