I am taking the kids crabbing tomorrow out on the Navesink. Leaving the house at 5:30 hope to be crabbing by 6:30. Using bunker and chicken backs, 6 hand line and two traps. My little guy Kyle pulls up the hand line to fast so I got him two traps to use. Both kids are very excited and can't wait to go. Also taking dad with me, so I will have three kids with me.lol hhppy. Hope to get a couple dozen to eat along with some cold beer.

Late report sorry guys. Well we had fun on Sat. crabbing, only got 13 but the were very large males. Saw the dolphins several times between the Oceanic bridge ant Redbank. To many people get way to close to them. When we were leaving and going over the bridge there was a lot of emergency personal on the far side of the bridge. I found out on Monday that two women crashed their jet ski on the beach and were thrown into trees on the bank and had to be air lifted to the hospital. There were alot of people water skiing and jet skiing on Sat. Some were going way to fast and way to close to boats that were crabbing and fishing.

Great report! Keepers seem to be far and few between now?? Did you have a lot of throwbacks?? Sorry you didn't get more. Sounds like you had a good time though!
Heard about that jet ski accident...the women were young teenage girls who got really hurt.
I guess the dolphins just hang out in that area of the Navesink b/c I went over the bridge 2 days in a row and they were there both days!

We caught no throw backs at all. I figured the women were young, kids just don not realize how powerful a jet ski is and how dangerous they can be is you be come reckless. I hope they recover soon and will be more careful next time.

WOW! No throwbacks...a very weird fishing/crabbing year this summer!
Yeah another sad summer tragedy. Hopefully they will recover. I think they were local teens from Monmouth County!
