Hi All,
If you plan to fish for Atlantic tunas, sharks, swordfish, billfish or other species requiring an NMFS permit, please read on.
Atlantic tunas, Atlantic HMS Angling, and Atlantic HMS Charter/Headboat permits for the 2007/2008 season are now available. For more information or to get your license, please visit the NMFS Permit Shop at:
https://hmspermits.noaa.gov/Default.asp
The cost for my permit was $28.
Folks - you need this license even to keep incidental catches of these species. It is worth the money if you fish in the ocean.
Thanks,
Capt. Ed

Also note that this permit will be good until 12/2008! 18 mos instead of 12 like the old ones for$22. i just got mine yesterday, easy, pay with credit card, print off as many copies as you want right away! Only good for your boat. Once you get a permit, you renew the same # every time.
