Title: Hi, I'm Shadyvito
Post by: shadyvito on February 11, 2007, 05:09:10 PM
My name is Mike but on boards I go by shadyvito (old nickname).  I used to trout fish in the early ninties mostly at Marsh creek near Downingtown.  I've always wanted to fly fish and recently started up in Aug. 06 after my friend in Nashville let me try out his gear.  I fell in love with it and now I'm addicted.  I've been to the ocean about four time this fall but I have no idea what I'm doing.  My cousin goes with me and has some experience but doesn't fly fish.  I managed to catch a flounder the same day that I had a twenty min. argument with my cousin that flounder can be caught on a fly.  That was great timing.
I'm hoping to make some friends and learn a few things here.

I started out with nothing so I bought a Genesis (Click Me)  (http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp;jsessionid=JKA23VHD2GOCQCWQNWSSCNYK0BW0MIWE?type=product&cmCat=Related_IPL_317960&id=0017452316491a&_requestid=47918&_requestid=111959)  rod outfit from Cabela's (8 wt.).  It came with enough stuff to get started.  I love the rod and updated the reel to a Redington large arbor reel.  Next I need more line choices.  I want to grab a good sinking line since I only have a floating line now.  I also see a ten or twelve weight in my future.
