Title: Bandit Offshore Report

Headed out and hearing 3 other boats on there way in had no fish was the first bad news :-\

But it was a new night. Capt Scott Steamed around 100 miles and we set up the chunk.Few squid but not alot.

Had about a 3 knot current could barely fish with 30oz on.


Current slowed no bites.........

Made a move inshore to try to get some bluefins.

no bites.....

Trolled around all morning

No takers.

No tunas

Capt scott tried hard But to No avail.

Not our day rgmn rgmn rgmn rgmn

Nice try...it's always a long trip when you don"t even get bites. Roff's sent out an email on Friday I think saying the tuna are out there but they are deep. There has been an abundance of squid this year and as a result the tuna haven't needed to come topside to try our baits. He suggested less tolling and more chunking, even in the daytime. Said you might need to send the baits deep below the thermocline almost to sword depth to compete with the squid.

Next trip if the troll doesn't produce at first light we are going to try this. Will bring extra flats of butterfish just In case.
