Headed out of liberty after dropping the kids at school and started trolling stretches along the ambrose-nothing. Headed south to the hook, saw the fleet clamming. No clams, so I trolled and drifted Gulp eels. Nothing... Morning was awful. In the afternoon, birds were everywhere, pulled 12 or so blues on metal and then towards 3pm near the bridge drifted the eels and scored 5 or 6 short bass in the 26" range. Called it a day about 5pm. Anyone know where I can get fresh clams in the shell around Liberty State Park or any marina I can pull up to and get the clams near where I launch?, Staten island?. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Michaels bait and tackle in Staten Island, Also in Keyport NJ . Keyport Marine Basin has a gas and bait dock. And Atlantic highlands Municipal marina has a 4 boat ramp, gas and bait store. ;)Headed out of liberty after dropping the kids at school and started trolling stretches along the ambrose-nothing.
