Title: 12 Year Old Girl Needs Some Gear

Hi All,

Calling upon your generosity here!  This was posted on another forum that I browse through for reading pleasure.  I emailed the poster and she gave me permission to cross post here.  I don't personally know the child or mother...just caught my attention.  I know times are tough everywhere...I also know how expensive fishing can be.  I was fortunate to have the ability as a kid to fish with my father and now do the same with my boys.

"My daughter just attended an educational event held by a local Surf Anglers Group. She wants to start saltwater fishing but does not have any gear. I'm a single mom and can only do so much. Does anyone have any old saltwater gear that they can donate? We're by Sandy Hook."

Looks like she is set for a rod and reel from posts on the other list.  If anyone has anything extra lying around that you don't use or have extra items you make(rigs, teasers, etc..) and would be willing to donate them, I know it would be appreciated.  I am willing to pick the items up and either deliver them or ship them if needed...whatever is needed!

I don't...I have an email address.  It seems legit...couple of members on the other site ran the program she attended.

Thanks!  Looks like between the other 2 forums, she should be set.  The responses seem to be overwhelming.  I didn't think she would get the response she did!  That's why I posted here.  Glad I was proved wrong.  Sure nice to see fisher men/women taking care of each other and helping out.

If anyone is still interested, I will still probably send or drop off some items as well.  Can never have enough fishing gear.  ...And it is a good cause.  I will give it a couple of days before I email mom back so...if anyone is still interested let me know...

Have mom and the youngen contact me... I would love to bring them out on one of the happy hour trips for stiper, on the house...
