Headed out sunday morning on my buddy's 20" cobia for some stripers and blues. We got a bushel of clams and headed out. The conditions were terrible at first so we anchored up in the back bay for a hour or so. First cast within 30 seconds i landed a 32" keeper, my first of the year. After that, a few shorts were mixed in. We then decided to troll the slack tide with shad rigs and bombers and had a few big blues on but they bit off some tails on the rigs and then a monster bass followed the rig up to the boat, swiped it and missed. We then saw the fisher price heading in and ditching their bunker so we netted them up, anchored and started chumming. We got into a nice bluefish frenzy for an hour or so and the guy anchored up in front of us had a nice bass on live bunker around 38-40" but it broke off on the side of the boat. It was a great day for what we made of it i just wish the conditions were better so we could have got into the main bay/channel :-\ .
