Title: 8/2 Fluke a la Lightning
Post by: wb on August 03, 2009, 09:42:21 AM
I headed out early after checking the base reflectivity loop. It appeared the ruff stuff would pass just to the NW on its NE track. So same game plan as yesterday, only solo...

Threatening skies for sure, but much calmer than yesterday, with slight north drift thru the hole. A few other boats were out there too. Light rain, saw a few shorts come up. I picked a few, bucktailing a white 1oz'er tipped with gulp. Got one also on the dragginstick with spearing/squid combo.

Kept an eye to the sky for a couple hours as the rain continued and brighter areas darkened. Eventually lightning began crashing in the area, so I pulled the plug around 10:00. Back to Keyport in heavier rain, try again next time...
