A total shocker came up today when I approached one of the boats in the Harbor looking for support to our labor day protest....I was told "We will be sailing that day as we have an RSA permit" .
For those not familiar with the RSA permit it is basically payment for extortion Fluke. Started in NY 2 years ago when the Gov. decided to sell what they call Research quota's.
There's really no research involved, just a phone call to let them know how many pounds you caught toward your intial purchase. Great way to extend your season, however it just opens the door for future payment on everything from Sea Bass, ling, Stripers and so on.....
So what could have been a huge statement is now in the toilet. Guess it's for the better as not too many PROFFESSIONALS wanted to get involved as usual.
Personally, I'm not going to fight anymore, what's the use, if you can't get your peers to back you up, why waste your time. Over the next few years as businesses start to fall by the wayside, I gauraunty I'll be one of the last men standing.........Thanks to all who got so pumped up about doing something and trying to make a differance....Capt.Ron

They way it is going pretty soon fishing will be like hunting....buy a License and then you have to buy a stamp to fish for the species you want........instead of buying a duck stamp, a pheasant stamp you will buy a Striper Stamp, a Fluke stamp, etc..........total BS

Guys,
If you want an easy way to get into the fight, go to http://www.joinrfa.org and look for the letter to Senator Lautenberg. Download it, print it, sign it and send it!
New York's Senator Schumer joined up with New Jersey's Representative Pallone to get this legislation going - now it's time to get our own leading Senator from the state of New Jersey onboard for adding limited flexibility to our federal fisheries law!
Again, that letter can be found at http://www.joinrfa.org/Press/SenatorLautenbergRFA.pdf
We can't quit fighting just yet - join RFA and let's keep the federal fight going strong!
