My friend George and I hit the surf at LBI on Friday...lines in at 6:30 am fishing an incoming tide. caught this 30 incher at 12:30 pm (right around high tide)on bunker chunk and lost one on the next cast...the second fish ran right at me and I didn't get the hook set. George had one almost on land, but lost it in the wash. We quit around 2:30 in the afternoon...a nice 8 hour day on the surf.
the beach is still a little beat up from the back to back noreasters, but the fishing in LBI is still consistant.
Going back this Friday morning to try again.

Thanks guys...great forum with lots of good info here.
@ Hotrod, the set up is an 11 foot ugly stick with a 60 cabela's salt striker spinning reel spun with about 400 yards of 60 lb power pro braid. I tie my rigs with 80-100 lb mono/leader and usually throw 6 ounces of lead.
