Title: Fished the Delawre Bay today
Post by: MarshHawk on November 05, 2009, 08:23:06 PM
We hit the water about 9am on the incoming tide.  Had an immediate run off but could not connect.  U thought we were going to have a lot of action but didn't get another bite till the top of the tide [12:30]. Then we had steady action boating 8 fish and missing several more.  All the fish were of the 26" class-pretty frustrating!  Heard some talk on the radio of keepers but that was fairly spread out. We were between #34 and #4 buoy.   We had bunker heads and large chunks out all day but the only way to coax a bite was to use smaller hooks, small pieces of bunker and free spool the reel as soon as you felt a tap.  If you kept any resistance on the line at all they would drop the bait immediately.
Last night when I checked the weather they were calling for Gale warnings in the afternoon.  We were on the water till 3pm and it was glassy flat at times.  I can't figure how the weather folks can have so much technology and still be so wrong!!
