Title: Jersey Nutz 11/11, 11/12 report
Post by: Capt. RJ on November 13, 2012, 05:35:33 PM
On Sunday we got a late start and headed out with a few of our crewmembers and myself. When we hit the inlet it was a coin toss to turn left or right and we decided to find out what the North would hold in store for us. Well it was not much to say the least, we should of zigged when we zagged and only managed a few Striped Bass and a bunch of blues on the jig for our efforts. Word was that boats were picking at them on the troll but this was a fun trip for us so we decided to stick with the Jigging. On the way in I got a call telling us about the good bite that had developed to the south, which was encouraging news to me.

On Monday we headed out with the winning for our posting that we did in early October, Craig and his son were great individuals and I was delighted to have them on board. With the word of the good bite we turned south at the inlet and pulled up to the spot where I had heard of great things, only to be disappointed. The Marks were there, but the fish were not chewing. We were jigging at first and then moved to the troll in order to put some fish in the box but the Striped Bass were not eating and Bluefish were all we managed. We then decided to move further south and kept working our way down until I came across some more good marks. This time we were able to put some fish in the boat and had a steady pick at the fish (mostly blues) but a few Bass did come tight, only one was sized for the cooler and that is how we ended the day.

We are still scheduling trips though December, please give me a call if you are interested in getting out. The conditions are staging and the fishing is going to break wide open any day now. You do not want to miss out. Good luck and tight lines

Great that you are able to get out again. Hopefully in a week or two I'll be able to get back out too. Are you seeing much (any) debris in the water? Many boats out?

I have seen 1 piling floating around during the 3 days that i have been out, the rest of the debris has been small pieces of wood (I would not worry about). The water has been really clean, but still 55 degree's. I got word of a good bite going on down south and want to run there if I can get the customers, let me know if you would want to jump on the boat!!!!
