Title: Rainey Day Soup
Post by: PeggyLee on December 10, 2012, 10:29:07 PM
Three days of stinken rain is just about enough.
So after working outside in between showers today,I made some delicious soup:
Lil olive oil in a sauce pan
with diced onions,
2 Idaho potatos cubed
added  one cup of chicken broth
added 2 lbs of Fluke fillets (chunked)
one dozen shrimp
one can of corn
4 sticks of celery
4  sticks of carrots
lil salt
cup of red wine
1 Jar home made Italian sauce (Peggy Lee)
1 Chilly Red  Hot Pepper (oh yeah baby).
Brought to boil and simmered for 1hr and 15 minutes.
Easy and delicious. chrz

ahhhhhh, kind of a Manhattan chowder when it's all done?

sounds mmmmmmgood I think about 10 cloves of garlic sauteed in that potato-onion concoction you got going would be a nice addition

can't have too much garlic

Yes, I have heard some people are allergic to shell fish e.g clams, shrimp, mussels etc.
I am sure a substitute of cod, pollack, sea bass,or black fish would add nice to the mix.

It's weird; it's just the shrimp...I'm solid with all the other shelled fish..thank god LOL!! The soup does sound great though especially in weather like this! Thanks for sharing!
