Title: 424 Raritan Bay
Post by: RON B on April 25, 2013, 08:45:16 AM
The last few weeks I have been fishing a few times along the Raritan Bay. I haven’t had much to report but a few shorts, and sometimes nothing.  Last night went out from 6-9 had a steady action with shorts @ 12”, 14” & 18” while I was baiting my hook, my friends yells out about my pole, I look over and my pole is out of the sand spike and heading into the water, I go chasing after it trip and fall into the water, (he thought I was diving in) pick up the pole, fish is still on, reel her in with a nice fight, but fish was only 27” and back to swim she goes.  I'm glad it wasn't cold out because now I'm pretty wet, and thankfully my phone was spared in my pocket.  Around 8:45 my wife stops be to see how I was doing, I told her I hope I get a hit so she could bring it in, sure enough I get that hit, pick up the pole, set the hook and have her start to reel her in with my help, she definitely had a struggle bringing the fish in so I needed to finish up, fish landed 36” our PB Fish I think she may be hooked!
