Title: Carlson Reef on 9/22 and a ????
Post by: bukman on September 24, 2007, 09:23:15 AM
My buddy and I fished the reef, at many different snags and could only find Cbass after Cbass, in the 10-11" range. NOT ONE keeper did we get!! Another friend fished The Sea Girt Reef and, with 4 guys aboard, reported even more than we caught BUT again few keepers. In both places the vast majority of the fish were female.

My question.....Is it breeding time OR have the POT BOYS taken alot of the keepers?? I saw two of those boats leaving the reef as we got there.   5hrug ??? 5hrug

End of May into June is breeding time for the seabass.  I think you have to go a little further offshore now to put a decent catch of keeper aboard.  They should move in for a while and then back out to deeper waters in Nov.
