Went out a few nights ago and hit several spots. Had a couple bumps but no hookups. Noticed a lot of bait gathered up in the usual spots.
Made a trip back to those spots last night to net some bait for this week's trip to Wildwood. Managed some mullet in the cast net.
While we were out and the it was a nice night we did a little fishing. Nice clear night with some moderate wind and an incoming tide. Lots of bait moving around and an few good splashes here and there. Becky hooked up and landed a nice weakfish in the 16-18in range and I got a feisty 5-6lb blue. Both on an SP Minnow and both released to grow.
The weakfish was a first for her. Now I really gotta try to catch my first weakie.
I'll be back out tomorrow night for more bait and hopefully some fish. Then Wednesday thru Sunday we'll be hitting the inlets and back bays of south Jersey looking for anything that swims.
