Well many have asked and or ever started a thread to find out if we are doing our annual blackfish trip....
We are!!
I'm really late in getting to this and apologize for that.. had it not been for Rick calling I think every boat on the east coast today..Im not sure that this was going to get off the ground and happen this year. A big thanks to Rick t^H
So here's what we have..
Capt. Jim Rivelli, Owner of the new Bingo has us penciled in for Saturday December 13th but we need to move fast on this...
Cost for the trip is $85.00 ( 20% tip included )
Going to keep it simple this year due to the short time we have to put this together:
There will not be a rod and reel raffle this year thud
Green crabs supplied..If you want whites..stop and get some !!...and pick up some for Rick and Me ;D
Food and beer...bring what ever you want...and bring some extra beer for ::) chrz
The Bingo is only a 58' boat so I am going to cap the trip at 20 guys to get us started... We may be able to add a few more depending on demand..
This is a MEMBERS ONLY trip again due to the smaller boat !!!

Just a quick update..
Thanks to all who have paid thus far..so fast !!
It really makes it easier when running these trips !!
We seem to be stuck at 19 guys..
As mentioned in the opening post here, we were going to make this a Members Only trip due to the smaller boat. So if you've been on here checking this out and are on the fence...time to hop on.
I'm going to open this up to friends on Saturday morning November 22nd to fill any remaining spots to insure we leave with a full boat...
We have to pay the full charter rate and that is based on 20 guys...
So if you'd like chime in with some names, I'll add them to the Alernate/Friends List...
And now back to our regularly scheduled program...already in progress..... rofla

I'm not sure if it says "gift" option. That's just what it's always been called. When you log in go to "Send & Request" the to "Send money to friends and family". It will say "No fee if you use your PayPal balance or bank account for domestic transactions."
Put in the info@njsaltwatertackle.com and the amount $85 and click next. The next screen you can add a note like "Tog Trip money for Big Al" and push SEND.

So we have an opening if anyone knows someone who would like to join us.

Not to do a weather jinx...but after this nor'easter moves out of here we are looking good for Saturdays trip !!
If anyone would like to jump on last minute we can probably fit a couple more if interested but you need to decide NOW !!
To those already on the trip...bring a few extra bucks with you for a possible pool, mate tip and whites...

The Bingo is getting us two bushels of whites instead of their usual one...We may need to pony up maybe 5 bucks a head for the extras...

Been working on some secret rigs for this trip.
Here is the new and improved....
"Kansas City Tog Rig"
Snafu rig style 11.50 inches of leader length.
Double sliders on both ends.
One side is Capt. Jerry style and the other side is Capt. Chad style.
Disguised with non traditional soft artificial baits.
Sure to catch a 20 pound fish or get snagged on first drop and loose 4 hooks. ;D pawle

Sports fishing for Tautog:
Popular among fishermen, tautog have a reputation for being a particularly tricky fish to catch.
( No Sh&t )
Part of this is because of their tendency to live among rocks and other structures that can cause a fisherman’s line to get snagged.
( Never happens to me rgmn )
The favorite baits for tautog include: green crabs, Asian shore crabs, fiddler crabs, clams, shrimp, mussels, sandworms, and lobsters.

(Who's bringing the lobsters ??)
Tautog fishing may also be difficult due to the tendency of fishermen try to set the hook as soon as they feel a hit, rather than wait for the tautog to swallow the bait.

Might be last minute but went shopping at Shop Rite. Found these Poultry Sheers on sale $6.00. Last year the ones I brought I kept getting my thumb stuck in them. Problem solved with this design and nice addition to any tackle box.

On a serious note :
As mentioned in the beginning of the thread, a 20% tip has been built into your fare an behalf of the mates…but please feel free to add to that if you think they went above and beyond…( like when they’re cleaning your catch )
So please bring some extra $$$ with you...
I need to hit everyone for an extra $5.00 for the extra bushel of white crabs...Boat only provided 1 bushel and as many of you know, this is the time of year that the whites out fish just about anything else..so we wanted to make sure we didn't run short...
Also,
I would like to run at lease a $5.00 pool ( preferable a $10.00 if everyone agrees ) and I would like to see everyone involved to make it interesting and more fun...
$5.00 X 20 guys = $100.00
$10.00 X 20 guys = 200.00
Would like to see a dollar fish as well !!!

My first time back on the water since my wipeout in August and it couldn't have been with a better group of guys. Everyone was eager to offer a helping hand as well as check to see how I was holding up throughout the day.A special thanks to Al for helping to get my beer chrz and rods to the boat.I only pulled up one shorty, but it was the best one I've ever caught. Thanks everyone for your kindness and compassion, and yep, I even got my balls busted a bit too. Thanks to everyone who pulled this trip together, congratulations to Uncle Luna on his pool winner. Bucktail Bob, we missed you buddy. And yes, next time I fall, I will do some Ninja moves spinning and flipping around in the air, landing on my feet. TT^

Great to finally get out fishing and see everyone yesterday ! what a crew ...
Despite the tough day of fishing we all had a great day filled with the usual Ball Busting and laughs...you just can't go wrong with that group !!!
Couple of highlights for me included :
Darren on the come back trail yesterday !! he might have walked to the boat with some help of a cane but fished his arse off all day!! Great to see you back in the game buddy !!

Even though the togging was VERY slow and the weather was cold and windy, I had a great time with a great crew. TT^ chrz It is not always about catching keeper fish, but getting out on the ocean and relaxing and laughing the day away.
Here are some random items I enjoyed yesterday.
As old as that trick is, Eddie putting a hole in Kenny's beer can was hilarious.
Me finishing the day without getting crushed against the starboard rail by Phil as much as we were rolling at times.
Knowing that in a strong NW wind the starboard stern corner is the WARMEST spot on the boat and out of the wind. clp
PaypalAl trying to blame the inert buckets for the reason he fell and hit the deck on the ride home. TT^
Kenny actually being QUIET for a little while. hhppy
Getting to spend the day with Mark who was mating as I have known and fished with him for about 20 years. He filled me in on all the scuttlebutt going on in AH harbor of all the captain and mates I have fished with there. Thanks Mark.
