Looked at the weather report for the next few days. Decided to take a head boat out of AH today. Drifted SH Channel with eels for about an hour; only one short bass and numerous bluefish biteoffs.
Took a long ride down to Long Branch where the blues were chasing peanut bunkers into the beach. Lots of action with the blues on any kind of jig; but only a few stripers caught under the blues.
One keeper bass about 10lbs that won the pool.
Hope the fall striper runs gets going in earnest.

Some of the nicest fluke of the year are caught while jigging for stripers along the beach in November. Too bad we can't have a one fish limit (like for blackfish) through the end of the year. Although, I better be careful what I wish for. Might be a one fish limit for all of 2008 (or worse)! :-\
