Cathy's birthday and season opener, after a quick chat at the dock with Mike Sharkbite about a game plan we both headed north out of SR inlet. by the time I rolled up to mike he had already had a short fluke on board he was prepareing to release, Great opening sign I thought. The wind was blowing good out of NW with a chill in the air and a 54 degree water temp Cath and I really wasn't planing on catching any fish to clean, But she puts the first keeper fluke of the season in the box at 18 and half inches, we weeded through some shorts then the blues jumped our Bucktails an we were in a 2 fish tango around the boat. Then it was back to flukin Cath adds a another 18 incher to the box.I had a couple nice sea bass that had to go back for another day. All in all a good day with lots of excitment. Gave it a try again on Sunday with my nephew Big Dave, Nice west breeze and was able to try some deeper water with no takers moved back to where we caught'em on Saturday only managed 2 shorts, was one of those frustrating days then the south wind kicked up and had everyone heading for the inlet. I did mark bunker along the beach but not thick but they were deep, and nothing chaseing them. :headscra: t^
