Title: At least there are skates...
Post by: adesai73 on November 11, 2007, 08:30:48 PM
The good news is I finally caught my first ocean life from something other than a boat.  The bad news is, as the title indicates, they were skates.  Being that it's the third weekend in a row I've tried this, not good.  bngh

Got a late start heading out to the Keansburg Pier b/c the girlfriend was having trouble getting out of bed.  Then, I realized halfway there that I forgot the tackle box and turned back around. We finally made it to Keansburg at around 11:00 or so with a bunch of fresh clams.  Fished straight until 6:00 and had nothing to show for it but two lousy skates.  Wasn't just me, everyone else was catching nothing but them, too.

Ugh.  I'm sure our very late start didn't help our cause, but still... ugh.

Don't give up now.  You just started and catching something tells me your tactics are right on the money.  All that has to happen is for the fish I mean real fish will be there and that is good.

Fishing from land isn't easy but it is rewarding.

Keep at it and the rewardss will come. TT^

Happy Catching
