Title: YSA Fluke 7/17
Post by: wb on July 18, 2016, 10:00:48 AM
Tom and I went back early AM to the sticky spot from the other evening fully expecting to find the fleet, or nada.

Well we got both, drift was different but sloooow, but we made it work for awhile, with some shorts.

Moved up to the Hole that Doesn't Officially Exist and the fluke did not officially exist there either. Slid over near the channel for some driftages and watched a couple guys play Ignore the Oil Tanker and Almost Get Runover, just for kicks.

Tide got running better, and picked up more shorts on a couple drifts down the green side.

Moved back over by the Shoal of Fluke, now with a different drift entirely, and finally picked up a nice keeper in 17' after switching up the Triple Combo to a less-intimidating Chartreuse Gulp/Killifish.

One last stop, thinking the fluke would tend to the deeper areas due to rising water temps, yielded a shitslick following Ya Sista's A$$ and no more fish for us.

Tom was looking hungrey by that point so we hightail it back for more afternoon notwork!

You certainly get an A for effort.

We didn't do too well either yesterday.  I'm thinking Saturday's storms churned up the bottom too much.
