Title: Anyone smoke meat?

I have been thinking about getting a smoker, I want to do some ribs, brisket, chicken. Since Ive never actually done it I don't know where to start.

Electric, dual fuel, charcoal, gas  5hrug  pros and cons to any brand type.

Hey Al this is the one I used for years
I prefer charcoal--BUT i only use wood charcoal the texas stuff  ace carries it.Rick should chime in he has all my recpies--I like using cherry wood!!--You can do 4 large chickens in it or 1 large turkey--shoot me a text if you need more info

Heres ricks chickens made with the cowboy wood charcoal and I think he used the cherry wood I gave him

 t^ ... I use the weber smokey mountain with a party Q fan and thermostat. it's a water smoker and I like it for ribs and brisket along with pork shoulder. I use a komodo smoker for chicken, fish and peppers. I do not recommend a stick burner for a first smoker.

sometimes TMI is a good thing Al

while I have smoked meat, I do not consider myself a meat smoker.

as some of you know another one of my passions is mountain biking, actually more of a trail rider. these guys on the MTB forum are good guys and they obviously smoke some meat, so enjoy!
