with a nicer day upon us, my friend and I decided to give winter flounder a shot. Got on the road around 7 and into the seaside area around 8. Picked up some bloodworms and clams. Headed to 2nd street pier but no luck. Moved up into Island Heights and set up on one of the piers. Same story. Checked out of that spot and stopped over at Mantoloking Bridge. Had a couple boats anchored, a kayaker, and a few guys fishing from the bulkhead. Looked promising but no luck there either. Made a last attempt at Belmar marina. Thought it was going to be shoulder to shoulder but only about 6 guys there. word was fish were there with a few guys getting keepers but none for us or anyone we saw there. The rain came in somewhere around 3pm so we headed home. Try again next weekend if we have the weather on our side.
