A wet end to the week and then a mixed weekend. Friday will bring showers and heavy rain and/or thunderstorms throughout the day. Some storms could be strong to severe with heavy rains, dangerous lightning, and damaging winds. Saturday will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, while Sunday will be sunny and dry. Highs will be in the 70’s and 80’s with higher humidity on Friday and Saturday and moderate humidity on Sunday. Water conditions will be cautious on Friday for seas and thunderstorms, borderline on Saturday, and good for Sunday. Surf and beach conditions will be the same, cautious on Friday with a Moderate to High Rip Current Risk and threat of thunderstorms, then borderline to good on Saturday and good on Sunday with a Low to Moderate Risk of Rip Currents. Water temperatures are steady in the 60’s and 70’s. UV Index will be Moderate to Very High at 3-10/15.

Low pressure along a frontal system stretching through the Virginias will move Northeast tonight and across New Jersey Friday morning. A cold front will cross the area on Saturday followed by high pressure on Sunday. High pressure becomes established off the East Coast early next week but another frontal system may affect the mid- Atlantic region around the middle of the week.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
