Their range in the Western Atlantic is from Nova Scotia to Brazil. They can grow nearly 6 feet long and weigh up to 200 pounds. The world record stands at 163 pounds caught June 22, 2015, off Japan. The Florida record is 142 pounds caught by Mr. W.A. Colbert Jr. 2/3/79, Islamorada, Florida.
