Hi Catfish Hunter,

Looking forward to sharing info. I spend a lot of time on the boat these days, although I love to fish from the beach and jetties. Time just goes too fast.

I fish near or in the Raritan Bay in the Spring and gradually move south as the waters warm.

Have fun,

Capt. Ed

a new rod will not help him ,although I am sure it will be a great rod,He needs to get some new holes to fish and get away from that one beach he loves.

how many times are you gonna use that new rod ,dont spend a ton on a new reel but buy a good one ,you are not gonna put pinto rims on a cadilac.if you are gonna fish a couple days a week spend a little more

I am definatly looking into buying a good reel.. there are so many choices out there though.. I am leaning toward a Calcutta or a Penn International 965 or 955.. But I heard some iffy reports about the Penns.. To bad, I have always been a penn guy..

I was raised on penns ,a couple years ago they went down hill or I started to fish harder cuz I was blowing them up all the time.the calcutta is a great reel and I cant blow it up {yet}I fish them hard and am very rough on my gear
