Lock & load, drop & reel, game on...whatever phrase you use we had it this morning for the first 2 hours aboard the Fins On Feathers. 1 drop fishing on Romer's.
First bass was hooked even before I had my bait in the water. And so it went for the first 2 hours. Seemed as if someone was always hooked up, with numerous doubles and several triples and quads. Before 9 AM we achieved a boat limit for the 5 fares plus each taking a bonus tag fish. Even Capt's. Frank & Jerry got into the act bagging their 2 fish limit + a bonus fish each. In total we probably brought 45-50 bass to the boat. Keepers on average ran from 29-33"s. Had enough that weighed in the upper teens to keep you interested. I had the big fish of the day at #22. Not too many trash fish today 4 or 5 skates and only 1 spiny dogfish.
Once the sun got high in the sky the bite tapered off to a pick until finally dying by 10:30ish as the fish retreated to deeper water. Spent the last hour or so pulling shad rigs. We took another keeper sized bas (released) and I lost another boatside. Also caught the only 2 bluefish of the day.
Clam bite is going on, get out there.

Spoke with the captain yesterday around noon. Saturday night's trip was a bust with just 1 bass caught and yesterday morning he reported that his girlfriend 'Gale" was back in town with evil conditions on the bar. Again just 1 fish yesterday morning.

Great pics of some great fish! What a great way to spend the day with your son. I can't wait until my boys are old enough to go out for a day of fishing. BTW...Nice fish. Lots of meat there!

How old are your boys? I started taking my son fishing when he was 4or 5. Started out doing 1/2 winter flounder/fluke trips & went from there. He's now 13 and has done just about every type of trip except a canyon run.
