Damn I'm glad my district gave me today off!!!
Had Steve Senff, Jule Raichle, Serg, and Greg aboard for a bass/bluefish trip today.
Ran straight out to start just past 7AM, found no life, so ran south. About 3 miles from the inlet, got into some real good marks tight to the bottom in 70' of water. Immediately had fish on, both bass and bluefish.
We worked over this same area (roughly a 2 mile radius), working on marks ALL DAY LONG, and mohawked the bass and bluefish. Longest lull without a fish was maybe 20 minutes during slack tide, other than that we had at least 1-2 fish on at a time. Very few birds working the area.
Most of the bass were taken before 11AM, but Jule got the big fish of the day at around 12:30, a nice 35"/15#er. Bluefish were mixed in early, then dominated later.
Easily limited the guys out on bass + Steve used his bonus tag, and most keepers were 28-29", had a couple around 31", and Jule's slightly nicer fish. Boated roughly 40 bass, all were between 25-35", and easily 75 bluefish (5-15#) All fish were taken on Kroc spoons, butterfly jigs, and AVA's with green or black tails.
Truly fantastic day of fishing, doesn't get much better than this. The guys cried uncle just shy of 2PM, and we left em' biting. What a day!!!

Nice job Capt Allen. Good to see you out there.
The fishing was red hot for a while. Then a fairly steady stream of fish. t^
I turned my radio down when I was on the phone earlier and forgot to turn it back up. Was wondering why I didn't hear anything on it. Realized it as I was going in. Dopey me. :-X

Way to go Captain Allen! t^ Joe saw you out there and pointed your boat out to us. We had a great day as well. Although it seems you had a bit better day with the stripers than we did. Nice job! ;D

Joe were you talking to Freddy?
Thanks guys, it really was a slammer of a day. t^

No I wasn't Capt Allen. I know of Freddy (Andrea's Toy), but don't know Freddy.
I am sure I will get to meet a lot of guys down your way in time. I usually shoot north out of Shark River and am not usually in touch with anyone south.
