yes it does .  That is how a guy down south showed me . I tell you when I get to the boat ramp and dump my boat at the AH I just want to get out there and to pay someone else for the bait is great and you can get it right on the way out .

I threw my first cast net after Percy showed me how, so I don’t know any other way. What he said made sense. If you put it in your mouth and have jelly fish on it, it won’t be fun.
It works for me, even a smaller net works fine that way.
Now all I have to do is practice

But buying bait also has an advantage. You don’t need someone to drive the boat who doesn’t know how, while you are on the bow.
Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!

i can hook you up with bunker if you need it.  It doesn't take long on most days.  Usually 1 throw is 100 bunker.  I can't even lift the net over the rail.  Sometimes I wish the net doesn't open all the way.. lol

I learned first on a 8' net.  When I got that working, the  only thing I do different with the 12' net is grab it twice with hand, everything else is exactly the same, just have to throw it a little harder do to the excess weight.

I practiced for 3 days in my yard from a crate with a 12'. I was hurting for days. I tried 4-5 different ways that I watched on the net. I finally got it. No net in the mouth.    I believe in jersey a 12 footer is illegle unless you are a commercial fishermen.  good luck.
